FEEDING DIRECTIONS: Parakeets require only a small amount of food. However, food must be available at all times. A parakeet cannot survive a period of 24 hours without food because of their rapid metabolism. The Seed Mix should be changed daily to remove seed husks and seeds spoiled by the bird's droppings. Always maintain a source of clean, fresh water for the bird at all times. Make Buckeye Canary Grit available to the bird as an aid in digestion, and a cuttle bone as an additional source of mineral.
