FEEDING DIRECTIONS: Feed Buckeye Ratite Grower Diet as the sole ration to growing birds beginning at two weeks of age and continue until they laying of the first egg. At this time the adult bird should be fed Buckeye Ratite Breeder Diet. Ratite chicks may be started on Buckeye 21% Broiler Starter-Finisher. Crumble for the first two weeks of life free choice. For growing ratites on pasture, limit the amount of pasture consumed to no more than 25% of the diet the first year and no more than 50% the second year. No other nutritional supplements should be necessary and may cause nutritional problems from imbalances. Feed Buckeye Ratite Grower Diet as a maintenance diet to adults when not reproductively active. If on pasture, limit the amount of grass or legume to no more than 50% of the total diet. Do not allow the pastures where ratites are grazing to become mature because of the danger of impaction. Maintain a clean, fresh supply of water and have grit available for the birds at all times. Maintain the growing ratites in a clean, dry environment with plenty of room for exercise. Do not feed this product if the feed has become moldy or out of condition. |
