  • Contains elevated concentrations of calcium to promote strong egg shells
  • Contains alfalfa meal to help enhance egg yolk color
Feeding Directions

Feed to laying hens at the rate of 60% Gold Standard Layer Crumbles and 40% scratch or cracked corn for average egg production.  For lighter weight hens and hens in extremely heavy egg production, feed at a rate of 70% Gold Standard Layer Crumbles and 30% scratch or cracked corn.  Do not feed 20% Gold Standard Layer Crumbles to laying hens for extended periods of time or to young, growing birds not in egg production due to the high levels of calcium.

Provide clean, fresh water at all times and make grit available free choice.

Make oyster shells available to birds as an additional source of calcium.

Tips for Managing Laying Hens:

  • Maintain a dry, draft-free environment with adequate ventilation.
  • Provide a perch or roosting area for hens to rest and at least one
nesting space per every 4-5 birds.
  • To keep hens laying year-round, maintain a schedule of at least
14 hours of light per day.
  • Maintain a minimum of two square feet of floor space per hen.
  • The number of eggs produced will vary based on breed,
management, light exposure, nutrition and space allowances.
